Our Business Intelligence & Integration Specialist oversees and manages the organization’s data systems, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility. They will collaborate with leadership at all levels to develop actionable solutions and leverage data analytics to drive informed decision-making. They will also provide technical guidance and support to the department in troubleshooting and resolving user issues, and contribute to the development and implementation of technology solutions that align with business needs and enhance sales and operational efficiency.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support dashboards, reports, scorecards, visualizations, and analytical solutions.
  • Support Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, and related reporting technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and analytical needs.
  • Analyze business data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvements.
  • Ensure accurate, reliable, and accessible reporting across the organization.
  • Promote self-service reporting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop reporting solutions supporting operational, financial, sales, and strategic objectives.
  • Create meaningful visualizations and executive reporting tools that support informed business decisions.

Data Integration, APIs & Automation

  • Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise integrations, APIs, and automated workflows.
  • Support data exchange between ERP, finance, HR, logistics, eCommerce, manufacturing, and third-party systems.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes, data synchronization, transformation, and validation routines.
  • Monitor integration performance and proactively resolve interface and data movement issues.
  • Utilize Power Automate and related technologies to streamline workflows and business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, analytics, and system integration.
  • Ensure integrations and automation solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and properly documented.
  • Support implementation of new applications, integrations, and process improvements as business requirements evolve.

Data Governance, Security, Compliance & Emerging Technologies

  • Support enterprise data governance, stewardship, quality, security, and compliance initiatives.
  • Promote data consistency, accountability, accessibility, and protection across organizational systems.
  • Maintain appropriate security controls, access management practices, and data protection measures.
  • Assist with audit, cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance efforts related to enterprise data assets.
  • Evaluate, implement, and support emerging technologies, including AI-enabled analytics, automation, and advanced reporting solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve business processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain enterprise data structures that support future AI and analytics initiatives.
  • Promote responsible, secure, and business-focused adoption of new technologies.

Data Systems Administration & Management

  • Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases, data warehouses, data structures, and supporting architecture.
  • Develop, optimize, and support SQL queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and automated processes.
  • Monitor database performance, backups, storage, security, growth, and system availability.
  • Manage database permissions, access controls, retention policies, and governance standards.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues including performance, storage, backup, and data integrity concerns.
  • Integrate and maintain data from multiple business systems within centralized and accessible data structures.
  • Support databases utilized by enterprise applications and operational systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors, business partners, and service providers on database and application-related issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation related to database configurations, processes, and support procedures.

Technical Support & Collaboration

  • Provide advanced technical support for business applications, databases, reporting platforms, integrations, mobile devices, and related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting users and business systems.
  • Train and assist users in effectively utilizing business applications, reports, dashboards, and technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge base materials.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, consultants, and business partners to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Participate in project planning, testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support activities.
  • Provide backup support and assistance to other Information Systems team members as needed.
  • Participate in on-call support, maintenance activities, after-hours work, and emergency response efforts when required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, database administration, data engineering, systems integration, reporting, or related technical disciplines.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and development.
  • Experience designing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and data models.
  • Experience with APIs, ETL processes, application integrations, and automated workflows.
  • Experience with Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, or similar reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise application ecosystems.
  • Experience with AI-assisted analytics, automation technologies, and advanced reporting solutions preferred.
